Interview 1 – Hope for the Next Generation

Who runs the households economy?

I worked mostly with a man in the household. I had some support, but it was mostly my responsibility.

What is the challenge for women in the sector?

New women face challenges because the youth cannot always support them. Life in this area is difficult. Young people need education and jobs, but opportunities are limited. It’s hard for them to succeed. I hope we can provide better conditions and support for them. I hope they have access to resources and opportunities to learn, to work and to improve their lives. Both young men and women struggle in this area. They need proper guidance, education and support to improve their situation. I hope to offer them good opportunities to grow and learn.

What are the main concerns about your job?

Having a secure work environment is important and having security at work is a major concern.

Is a formalised job in the agriculture sector an option in Morocco?

Yes, but we had to make sure everything was done properly, it’s difficult.
