Nguyen Le is an anthropologist working on issues of ethnicity, ethnic relations, human development, health, and food sovereignty. She is especially interested in investigating the interactions between the state and local people via the development policies and programs, the impacts of the government interventions on local communities, and the reaction and strategies of lay people in coping with the intervention. She has a BA in history (Vietnam National University, 2006), an MA in anthropology (Vietnam National University, 2011) and a Doctorate in Areas Studies (Kyoto University, 2020). She is a researcher at the Institute of Human Studies, Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences.
